Transform Your Leadership: The Power of Celebrating Wins and Identifying Growth Opportunities
On September 9, I had the pleasure of hosting another impactful session as part of our "How We Align Your Thoughts with Our Purpose" series. This particular session was extra special because I had the honor of featuring Elizabeth Reim, who is now fully immersed in our Train the Trainer Leadership Academy. It has been an exciting journey, and I’m thrilled to see the program progressing so well.
During the session, we dove into some critical themes that are near and dear to my heart—planning for success, celebrating our wins, and identifying growth opportunities. It’s all about creating momentum, recognizing achievements, and positioning ourselves for continued growth.

Here are a few key takeaways from our discussion:

1. Celebrating Successes
We often get so caught up in striving for the next goal that we forget to take a step back and celebrate the wins along the way. I challenged everyone to reflect on 15 successes they’ve achieved in 2024, whether personal or professional. These reflections can provide us with the fuel we need to keep pushing forward. Elizabeth shared some of her own thoughts during the session, and it was a powerful reminder of how celebration can build momentum and open doors for more success.

2. Recognizing Growth Opportunities
Growth is an ongoing process, and sometimes it requires us to recognize where we haven’t quite hit the mark. But instead of viewing unmet goals as failures, Elizabeth and I talked about reframing them as opportunities for growth. We discussed how perfectionism and high standards can sometimes lead us to overlook our progress. This shift in perspective can be transformative, helping us focus on what we can improve without being bogged down by what didn’t go perfectly.

3. Strategic Thinking and Setting Priorities
A big part of the session was about setting ourselves up for future success. I introduced the concept of focusing on "3 major rocks"—key priorities—and aligning them with SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound). This approach helps create actionable steps that move us forward. Elizabeth brought her unique insights to the table, linking these strategies to her role in the Leadership Academy, which has been inspiring to see.

4. Leadership Development
Throughout the session, Elizabeth and I touched on the importance of leadership development. We discussed useful tools like SWOT analysis and the StrengthsFinder model, which help uncover areas for growth and development. Elizabeth’s enthusiasm for the material was contagious, and I’m excited to see how she applies these strategies as she continues her journey in the Leadership Academy.
